Hey!
Alright. Here’s the second redo. The original comic can be found here. Damn. Look at that garbage. Some would say it had a certain naive charm but those people would be idiots.
Expect the next one soon. And perhaps the updated site.
Cheers, Luke

[Sep. 13th, 2007|07:32 pm] |

Hey hey!
What you see before you is the VERY FIRST CUBIS COMIC... Only it's been totally redone.
You see, when I was updating on a regular schedule, a week wouldn't go by without someone asking me why the comic started at 10. Well, the reason is that the first 10 comics were super terrible.
SUPER terrible.
It was always my intention to redo them and reintegrate them into the over all cubis collection, but there never seemed to be an appropriate time. Now is that time. Expect a new comic at least once a week until this little project is done. Keep in mind that while each new comic will appear on the main page, when looking for them in the archive, they'll be at the beginning (comics 1 - 9).. Okie dokes?
Anyways, that's it for now. Tell your friends. :)

| 91 ~ Chili |
[Jun. 25th, 2007|12:53 am] |

Hey there!
The infamous, mysterious, and maybe even enigmatic comic 91 is finally redone and uploaded! Is that awesome? Yeah, sorta. :D
Originally created over four years ago, this comic takes place in the dumbension: A place only visible to really dumb people.
And Miguel, apparently.
The mini-series doesn’t make sense, really, but it did introduce Miguel to us. So it’s not all bad. I also animated a hunk of it many many years ago.
Anyways, enjoy it folks. I’ve got to study for an exam on Saturday, but after that I’ll be back with more old or lost cubis comics.
Cheers, Luke

| 307 ~ The End |
[May. 11th, 2007|02:02 am] |

Aaaannnnd I’m done.
After a lot of careful consideration, much deliberation and a teency spell of intoxication, I’ve decided to end, “Can You Believe I’m Single?” for the time being. But don’t worry, I’ll be back. Might be next week, or next month. But I’ll be back. I’d miss you guys too much.
Good news is that I’ll still be uploading comics, just not any new ones. I’ll be redoing comic 91, and finally uploading comics 1 through 10. I’ll also finish up the new site. In the mean time, if you guys want to contribute any of your works, I’ll be happy to include them in the site.
I’ll give you more information tomorrow. Much love, eh? ~Luke

[May. 4th, 2007|11:25 pm] |

From the comments:
I have much love for the log roll.
You see, log rolls are significant to me because it was logs rolls that initially solidified my love for Smitty. In either grade 7 or 8, my school decided to incorporate gymnastics into gym class. Which, if you're a young man, is pretty much equivalent of being forced to wear pink frilly things. Most of the stuff they made us do was harmless. The only truly uncomfortable activity was The Floor Routine. This required us to string together a minimum of 8 different 'floor' moves which were marked on execution and style and a number of other equally vague criteria.
So, of course, each student archetype performed in exactly the way you'd expect. The nerds tried, failed and were mocked - often to tears. The jocks managed to mix in high fives between each move. The chicks over did it. I was in the bathroom when the class sycophant performed but I expect he all but hugged the teacher during his performance. And finally, the burnouts all skipped that day.. or they were on suspension. All of 'em except one: Smitty.
I donno if it was my positive attitude wearing off on him, or if he simply forgot which day he was supposed to skip. But Smitty was there and ready to perform. Well, he was outside the gym doors smoking. But he was in earshot and really, what's the difference?
When Smitty's name was finally called, he put out his smoke, took off his shades and walked to the edge of the mats. The teacher reiterated the rules and told him to begin when he was ready. Smitty nodded, laid down on the mats and proceeded to execute 8 consecutive log rolls. When done, he stood up, walked out side and lit another smoke.

Sorry about the delay, folks!
A number of small things that required my attention came up this week and just more or less vampired all my time. I’m going to delay Monday’s thrilling conclusion to the party/cancer series until Tuesday so no one misses this particular comic.
Have a great weekend, eh? You guys make my Mon/Thurs great. Luke

[Apr. 12th, 2007|07:39 pm] |

Trois cent un! That’s French for, “Kiss me, I gotta lotta hundreds.”
This weekend I’ll be working on yet another new design for this website. So think of me when you’re all having fun.
Unless you’re French. Then think of the French equivalent of me: an excessively thin, but tall man standing in a blustery wheat field with a top hat.. drinking syrup from a glass jack-o-lantern.
Cheers, Luke

Happy 300th comic, everyone! Wooooo!
I just wanna say thanks to all of you who read the comics (and buy the t-shirts). Especially those of you who’ve been around since the beginning. You’re awesome. You guys have made me one happy dude.
The first official cubis comic was uploaded in April of 2002. Five years ago. Makes me feel old. Old but happy that I’ve had the chance to entertain such great folk for so long. Truly, it’s been my pleasure. Thank you.

| 283 ~ My Friend |
[Jan. 22nd, 2007|10:01 am] |

Happy Monday, folks. This is nice. And so is this. It’s my puppy, Rosey. She’s six-seven months now.. about 60lbs. She’s beyond adorable. If you hug her, she tries to lay down. If she manages to lay down while you’re still hugging her, she goes directly to sleep. And then your heart melts and she licks it up.
But don’t just hug your dog. Hug your family, too. Hug anyone who’ll let you.
Much love,
~Luke

And again, I’d like to re-extend my thanks to Aegith.net. My old host left this message on my machine last night:
“… My god…. it’s full of … stars..”
Make of it what you will. I’ll keep you all up to date. In the mean time, as always, I love you all and have yerself a good weekend ’cause next week is going to suck.

Update: The new cubis.ca mirror is up and running (www.cubis.ca forwards to it). I just switched up the DNSiness of it all, so there may be a slight delay. If she don’t work, come on back later.
I have to thank the fellers at aegith.net for their help in this time of need. Truly greatful. signum, stand up and take a bow, dude, you totally saved the day. Also, check out his comic: Here it is.
———————————————
Hey folks. Cubis.ca got hacked. I got my dudes workin on it right now, that’s why it is down. I think. Either they’re workin on it or the hacker totally owns it now. Anyways, the new comic is ready. Currently hosted on photobucket (how prepared am I?), unless some helpful person would like to become a temporary mirror for cubis.
Much love :)
(Unless you’re the Caledon police or the hacker. Then you’re a dick.)

[Jan. 1st, 2007|07:15 am] |

Happy New Year, folks!
I’m going to keep this short since I figure that if you’re reading this, you’re reading it with a hangover. Thank you. That’s it. I don’t have the words to explain how much you guys mean to me.
Thank you.

Also, hey! There’s a new t-shirt design up! It’s Rosey and the Cat. All kinds of shirts, hoodies, mugs, mouse pads and stuff in all kinds of colours. Both mens and womens t-shirts (the mens stuff is on the second page, I believe). Go have a look.

Happy Holidays, everyone!
I expect you’ve all had your Christmas toast already. Some of you (Smitty) have probably had three or four by now. And on this Christmas day, I would like to say that I love you all to the fullest extent a man can love a repeating IP address, or in LJ’s case, a user ICON and journal entries. Which, really, if you knew me, is a great deal. Again, Happy Holidays.
So… Whatdja get? ;)

| 100 ~ Good Buy |
[Dec. 20th, 2006|06:12 am] |

Good news! I found one of the two missing comics!
“Can You Believe I’m Single?” went down only once a number of years ago. And, like a fool, I totally didn’t have back ups. I managed to get the majority of the comics back, but two comics slipped through the cracks. Today I found number 100 on an old porn resume backup disc. Sadly, comic number 91 is still lost.
If any viewers from way back have a copy of number 91, send it to me and I’ll make a comic just for you. It can even have you in it, if you want, whatever you want!
Much love,
Luke

Hey if you come across any browser incompatibilities with the new design, just drop me a note. My carrier pigeon call is Wah-Ooo Wah-Oooh. Like a french poodle barking.
